CCM History

1969
Clyde Cressler graduates from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Pharmacy.
Clyde's first work experience. Registered Pharmacist at Bill Gerdes Pharmacy in Conneaut.

1970
Clyde also moonlights as a Hospital Pharmacist at Brown Memorial Hospital.

1971 The Beginng of the Family Business
Clyde and Vernon Moore (his father-in-law) form a partnership and purchase their first store, Green's Pharmacy in Meadville, PA.
Clyde and Vernon acquire stores in Greenville PA, Titusville PA, Sandy Lake PA, Sharon PA, Erie PA, and Saegertown, PA, Conneaut OH, Ashtabula OH.

1978
The Saegertown store is converted to the first closed door pharmacy.
The business begins selling nursing home medical supplies.

1979
Clyde develops his first chain-host system to operate all of the pharmacies from a central headquarters in Meadville, PA.

1985
The business purchases its second closed door pharmacy in Allentown, PA

1989 Clyde Goes Home
Clyde purchases a retail pharmacy in Millerstown, PA and converts it to a closed door pharmacy. At this time, he also moves into his home in Newport, PA.

1990
Vernon Moore officially retires and the Cressler family acquires all outstanding shares of the corporation.

1991
Corporate headquarters relocates to Newport, PA.

1992
The first Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy opens in Huntingdon, PA.

1993
Four more Medicine Shoppes open in Houston, TX

1994 Sale of the Texas stores
A Medicine Shoppe opens in Harrisburg, PA.
The Harrisburg Medicine Shoppe is relocated to Newport, PA

1995
Meadville Care Apothecary purchases the company's first automated packaging and dispensing system.

1995/96
A Medicine Shoppe is purchased in New Cumberland, PA. Care Apothecary stores in Allentown and Newport, PA are sold.

1997
A Medicine Shoppe is purchased in Scranton, PA in March.

1998
A Medicine Shoppe is purchased in Pottstown, PA in September.

1999
Care Capital Management is formed as the management division for all operations. CCM relocates to Harrisburg, PA

2000
Four Medicine Shoppes are acquired in the Binghamton, NY region

2001
Medicine Shoppes are purchased in Brookville, PA, DuBois, PA, and Brockway, PA. The Brockway store is consolidated into the DuBois store.
Care Capital Management fortifies its staff by adding operations internally and externally.

2004
CCM acquires Fisher's Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA
The Pittsburgh Medicine Shoppe is split into two locations - one retail and one closed door pharmacy.

2005
The closed door pharmacy moves into Mercy Behavioral Health in Pittsburgh's South Side.

2006
A second automated packaging machine, Parata's PACMED multi-dose envelope packaging system, is purchased.
CCM's first 340B Pharmacy opens inside of Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg, PA.
CCM begins servicing the National Pace Program at a facility in Pittsburgh.

2007
CCM begins servicing a second National Pace Program at a facility in Philadelphia.

2009
Another Medicine Shoppe opens in Pittsburgh, PA.

2010
CCM begins servicing a 340B clinic in Pittsburgh, PA.
